Platinum Software has duly changed its name to Epicor after a long running battle with Platinum Technology over the similarity of their names.
Under an agreement reached in February, Platinum Software agreed change its name in return for an undisclosed amount of money, while Platinum Technology retained the rights to the Platinum trademark.
But by a curious twist of fate, Platinum Technology may also be changing its name after it agreed to be acquired by Computer Associates in March.
