Litton Data Systems has released a second-generation handheld PC for use by soldiers. The PC is able to operate at temperatures ranging from - 25 degC to 49 degC, is water immersible and weighs just 4.5lb. It includes a 133MHz Pentium processor, 520Mb hard drive and 16Mb of RAM (upgradable to 64Mb). The handheld comes with either a 7.8in colour screen or 7.4in black and white LCD screen. The unit has non-proprietary architecture and can run under Unix, Windows or MS-DOS.
