Hosted by the Telecommunications Managers Association (TMA) this annual event is a hotbed of networking and politics. BT was pilloried last year over leased line prices and the break-up of its near monopoly of the local telephone loop - now less than a year away. Keynote speakers from the UK's newest telcos predicted the UK's wired future. Expect TMA 2000 to be no less contentious. Also, expect a flurry of behind-the-scenes deals between user and vendors presenting network hardware and software products.
