No mobile game has ever set the world on fire quite like Pokémon Go, but it's missing a lot of the features that long-time Pokémon fans love most about the game. For instance, while you can battle gyms, you can't currently battle actual Pokémon - unless you get Pokémon Duel.
It hasn't had as much fanfare as Pokémon Go, but the Pokémon Duel app is just as much fun - possibly even more if you're a big fan of battling your way to victory.

You'll need a strong deck of Pokémon to be the champion of Pokémon Duel - your team of 6 needs to cover a wide range of strengths, specialities and moves. In a League Match, you take it in turns to duel your opponents' Pokémon in real time, battling other players online to power up your deck. The winner gets swag including new items and Pokémon figures, and when you're really good, you might make it into the world League rankings.
