Available on a range of mobile operating systems ABBYYs Business card recognition application takes a photo of a business card and translates it into on-screen personal information that can then be saved into your contacts folder.
Simple to use and easy to understand it is a good choice for anyone looking to free up their wallet from business cards and add some good productivity features to their handset. It recognises up to nineteen languages and was particularly accurate at picking up email addresses and URLs.
The card reader, on Android at least, is a paid for app. However, its £1.23 price tag is perhaps worth the accuracy it offers. A trial version is also available.
