Worried about the number of hours your children or friends spend behind their Xboxes, PCs and Playstations? Worry no more, because according to a study by Entertainment Software Association (ESA) , gamers are volunteering, God fearing and physically active folk.
Gamer actually spend an amazing 23.4 hours per week "exercising or playing sports, volunteering in the community, reading, or engaging in religious, creative, and cultural activities", and sit behind their consoles starting at the TV just 6.8 hours per week.
The ESA surveyed 802 Americans in September 2004.
But wait a minute, anyone spending 23.4 hours a week engaging in socially acceptable behaviour seems like an awful lot.
Of course you should look at these results with a dose of cynicism. The ESA after all represents the same entertainment industry that is being touted as creating model citizens here.
