The Guardian has revealed information for its upcoming subscription based app, giving users a heads-up on what they can expect to pay for newspapers and magazines when the iOS 4.3 update hits Apple devices.
The new app will have a price point of £2.99 for six months and £3.99 for 12 months, The Guardian noted in a blog post.
"We'll be launching the new app globally for the first time and although we can't confirm exactly when it will be available, we're working towards a pre-Christmas release," the paper said.
While the app appears to be good value for money, readers in the US will be treated to a free ad-funded app, The Guardian added.
Apple is also expected to launch an iPad-only paper in conjunction with Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. The Daily, as it is expected to be known, could hit the iPad before the year is out and is expected to cost $1 (64p) a week.
