Many of us think we're creative. Sure, we probably can think of a design we want, but we generally can't sketch the design on paper. It's frustrating trying to tell a building surveyor or architect how we'd like our home extension to be designed as they'll simply interpret your words in their style. As time is money, the longer it takes to design your extension, the more you'll need to pay in design costs.
Google SketchUp 6 is the latest version of the home design tool and enables you to design anything from an extension to your kitchen through to your own house. With the new version, you can even create a sketch from a photo. See a house you'd like for yourself, take some photos can import in to SketchUp. Once you've created your model, show it to your architect and they can use this as the base design.
