There have been multiple private and public previews, but the final version of Maxthon 2 has been released. Maxthon 2 is an Internet Explorer based web browser that uses the core web engine that drives Explorer, with a number of feature enhancements that improve the browser (in many people's opinions). The latest version ships with an improved interface and additional security features. As it uses the IE engine, which is built in to Windows, you can also use many of the features of IE, such a Active X and more.
Of course, there are alternatives. For instance, Avant 11.5 was recently released and is another alternative IE-based web browser. Firefox 2 and Opera 9.22 are also recommended. If you're a fan of Internet Explorer, but feel it lacks innovation, try Maxthon 2.
