After giving Apple a hard time in this column last week - and having had our ears chewed off by a number of readers who won't hear a word against the company - it was refreshing to hear what CEO Gil Amelio had to say about his company's situation.
Amelio is a "spade's a spade" sort of bloke. Unlike the many slick, untrustworthy operators who populate our industry Amelio is alarmingly honest. Asked why Apple bought NeXT rather than the heavily-tipped Be Inc, he replied: "BeOS is so immature it can't even print a file".
With a testimonial like that, it surely won't be long before Be Inc is snapped up for some incredible sum.
