LogMeIn Ignition lets users remotely access PCs or Macs

LogMeIn has released a version of its remote access tool that enables iPhone and iPod Touch users to remotely control Windows PCs and Mac OS systems.

LogMeIn Ignition for iPhone and iPod Touch is a downloadable client for the firm's remote control service, and can connect to computers with the LogMeIn Pro, LogMeIn IT Reach or LogMeIn Free host software installed.

The software lets the user view the remote computer and control it as if they were sitting in front of it.

For the iPhone and iPod Touch, LogMeIn has added a full multi-function keyboard and touch-screen zoom and scroll controls.

"Now, iPhone and iPod Touch users who need to access important programs and files on any of their LogMeIn-enabled computers can do so easily over an encrypted, secure connection," said Kevin Farrell, vice president and general manager for digital living at LogMeIn.

The LogMeIn Ignition application an be purchased and downloaded through the iTunes App Store for $29.99 (£19.50).
