UK user group survey shows positive feedback

Phil Muncaster

Oracle has received glowing feedback from members of its UK user group in a new survey published today by the organisation to mark the start of the annual UK Oracle User Group Conference and Exhibition.

The survey of 550 users found that 96 per cent are happy with functions and features of Oracle development tools, while 94 per cent are satisfied with Oracle DBA tools.

In addition, 98 per cent of Oracle customers are satisfied with Oracle E-Business Suite Financials, while 97 per cent are satisfied with Oracle Supply Chain.

There was also a positive response among former customers of acquired vendors such as JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Siebel, according to UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG) chairman Ronan Miles.

"The most obvious metric here is the JD Edwards conference we held this year showing a four-fold growth in attendance, which reaffirms the JD Edwards community and [support for] the Oracle Applications Unlimited strategy," he said.

However, Miles warned that UKOUG members "by definition are likely to be committed to their investments" and therefore generally positive about Oracle products.

"The 1960s was when user groups shouted at their suppliers. Now the message is about a shared ecosystem and success, because Oracle wants happy customers and the customers want Oracle to be there," he said.

"Over the course of a year we've gone from being a source of information to being a source of initiatives for Oracle globally."
