The RedDot suite eases the creation of enterprise blogs and wikis

RedDot embraces enterprise 2.0

New web content management suite enables controlled use of social media tools

Phil Muncaster

Web content management firm RedDot has today launched a suite of products designed to give firms the tools to create internal and external Web 2.0 sites that remain firmly under the control of the enterprise.

The RedDot Web Solutions Suite enables firms to access information in their SAP, Microsoft SharePoint and Open Text content repositories, as well as databases, file systems and Web 2.0 applications, explained the firm's managing director, Andy Bellinger.

Also featured are improved capabilities for multi-presence, which could appeal to firms that need to deploy sites in multiple languages and geographies, as well as tools to allow the creation of blogs, wikis, forums, events calendars and other interactive features.

"What IT directors and CEOs are asking for is an enterprise solution they have control over and can put under their own communications guidelines, so we are focused on providing that enterprise 2.0 piece," explained Bellinger.

"We are finding organisations want that enterprise level security and compliance piece, and that is all within the release."

In this way, the suite can monitor content posted to internal and external wikis and blogs and automatically notify site managers of content that could violate company policy.
