Bill Gates launches new company

What's it all about, Bill?

David Neal

Bill Gates is currently in the process of setting up what appears to be a new company. So far details are scarce about the newly named and trademarked bgC3.

The company has apparently been around since March, and had its name established only a few weeks ago. The only concrete details to have emerged come from public documents which describe bgC3 as a "think tank".

Other searches have revealed its original name of Carillon Holdings, and it has been suggested that the new name, which was applied in July, stands either for Bill Gates Company 3 or Catalyst 3, a name that would seem to fit with the 'think tank' suggestion.

Federal documents confirm that the name is trademarked, conforming to specifications that include "technological services" and "design and development of computer hardware and software".
