A US company has introduced one of the smallest PCs ever to address the burgeoning netbook market.

The 95mm x 65mm x 15.5mm iKIT computer from Imovio runs a Linux operating system and includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a Qwerty keyboard for a fraction of the cost of a device like the Eee PC.

"IKIT is designed to be used in Wi-Fi settings like your home, office, hotel or internet café which makes communicating convenient and inexpensive," said the company.

"In addition, its Bluetooth capabilities allow it to pair with almost any data-enabled mobile phone to access websites, email and chat networks."

The computer has a 312MHz Marvell CPU, a 2.6in QVGA display, 128MB of ROM, 64Mb of RAM, USB and microSD removable storage. The device also comes with an optional camera for videoconferencing.

The iKIT costs £99 and is intended for casual use but without paying for a full netbook. Companies are increasingly looking to improve mobile computing ability without paying for a laptop or netbook.
