Antivirus firm AVG Technologies has appointed Dale Fuller, former interim
chief executive at McAfee, to its board of directors.
Fuller is currently president and chief executive at desktop virtualisation
company MokaFive and also sits on the boards of source code search engine Krugle
and the Quest Aircraft Company.
As well as heading up McAfee between October 2006 and April 2007, Fuller's
career includes a six-year stint as chief executive of software firm Borland
until 2005.
"We are pleased to add Dale to our distinguished board of directors," said J
R Smith, chief executive of AVG Technologies, adding that Fuller's track record
will enable him to strengthen AVG's focus on the consumer and SME markets.
"Dale is an important addition to the team and we look forward to his
contributions and guidance," he said.
Fuller holds an honorary PhD from St Petersburg State University in Russia.
He has been a member of the American Association of Artificial Intelligence and
the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and serves as chairman of
the Let Them Hear Foundation which aims to help underprivileged and underserved
hearing-impaired individuals.
