Orange launches SIM-only business services

Cheaper alternative to mobile subscriptions, claims operator

Orange has launched a SIM-only service for business customers in a bid to simplify their options.

Touted as a cheap solution in times of budgetary constraints, the SIM-only tariffs start at £15 a month and are a good alternative to long term contracts, according to Orange.

The SIM-only tariffs will also help firms to reuse old and existing handsets, as opposed to purchasing new ones, the company said.

“Managing working capital is front of mind amongst many business leaders at the moment and SIM-only helps them do exactly that. It gives them the connectivity they need with a generous call allowance both in the UK and internationally, helping them ensure their overheads are manageable and their business can remain profitable," said Martin Lyne, director, Small and Medium Business, Orange.

At the cheapest end of the spectrum the £15 a month SIM offers 300 free inclusive minutes and 50 texts. International calling is included as standard.

The SIM-only tariffs are offered alongside Orange's existing Solo, Venture and Momentum tariffs, and range in price from £15 a month to £125 a month.

This highest option will include 3,000 minutes and free texts between other users on the same sort of account.

Orange is also offering firms the option to let users share the same tariff. Sharer SIM means that subscribers simply share the tariff and its minutes and text allocations across multiple lines.

Sharer SIM-only options start at £45 per month and offer 1,000 inclusive minutes.
