Dell has unveiled a range of servers for small and medium-sized businesses.
The PowerEdge R300 rack-mount server starts at $1,249 and has a single-processor slot which features a quad-core Intel Xeon processor.
The PowerEdge T300 is a full tower system which starts at $999 and carries similar features to the R300 system.
"Customers want faster performing systems to run their already taxed computer networks at a price that won't break the bank," said Frank Muehleman, vice president and general manager of Dell's small and medium business branch.
Dell hopes to pit the new servers directly against similar offerings from HP and IBM.
The company claims that the R300 sports 26 per cent better performance than Dell's DL320 G5p model.
