Surfers spent an average three hours watching internet video during the month, at around 2.7 minutes per video equating to about two videos a day.

Google sites dominated the September rankings. YouTube emerged as the clear leader with 27.6 per cent of all videos viewed, but Google Video proved far less popular with less than one per cent of videos viewed.

Fox Interactive and Yahoo were the next most popular video sites, but neither managed a market share of over four per cent.

Video on MySpace is still popular, however, recording 360 million videos watched by 38 million people.

The figures exclude video server networks, but cover most other forms including streaming and progressive download.
