The
Apple
TV 1.1 update includes the software needed to run
YouTube on the Apple
TV, as well as the first 'critical' security update for the set-top box.
A vulnerability in the UPnP IGD networking component could allow a remote
attacker to crash the device and possibly execute code.
Apple also released an
update
for Mac OS X 10.4, making 'Tiger' the first version of the operating system
software to reach the '.10' update milestone in the 23-year history of the
Macintosh computer.
The
10.4.10
update contains a fix for a vulnerability in the IPv6 networking software.
If exploited, an attacker could take over a portion of the networking bandwidth
and cause a slowdown in performance on a user's system.
The update also fixes compatibility issues with several external devices,
including USB hard drives and Bluetooth headsets. Bugs in several system
components, including the calendar and calculator software, were also patched.
