QuikDrop International, a retail store which sells users' goods on eBay for a small fee, announced today that its total eBay sales have surpassed $50m.

The company opened its eBay drop-off stores in February 2003. It claims to have served 57,000 customers over the past 44 months and closed over 300,000 auctions on eBay.

QuikDrop allows sellers to leave goods at a store which then produces a digital photograph of the items, writes a detailed description and posts the products on eBay.

When the item sells, QuikDrop packs and ships it to the buyer and sends a cheque directly to the seller, minus a commission.

"We continue to pay out tens of millions of dollars to people in the communities we serve, all from items people don't want or need anymore," said QuikDrop president Murray Mead.

"There is a rapidly growing consumer trend to sell stuff on eBay that you don't use or need anymore in order to get what you really want."
