An email announcing the launch of a new Google Pharmacy service is a trap
designed to infect the recipient with Trojan software.
The statement claims to be from Team Google and even the two 'o's in the
Google logo have been replaced by blue Viagra pills. Google regularly produces
themed
logos to celebrate various occasions.
The email, discovered by
SurfControl,
attempts to lure the recipient to a phishing website containing Trojan
software.
The malware attempts to download other malicious programs and compromise the
host PC's security settings.
The scam displays a fake notice in a frame at the bottom of the site claiming
that it has been accredited by Google Pharmacy, mimicking Google's Online
Pharmacy Qualification Program for its
AdWords
service.
SurfControl advises users to update antivirus software to protect against the
threat.
