BEA has unveiled a set of tools under the Aqualogic brand for organisations to manage service oriented architectures (SOAs). The initiative was previously announced as a project codenamed Free Flow. 

BEA chief executive Alfred Chuang unveiled the Aqualogic Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) data services platform and security services at an event in New York.

An ESB forms a relatively new software category that promises to integrate and connect web services. The platform offers consistency by creating a combined view of data across an enterprise.

The security module is a rebranded version of BEA's WebLogic Enterprise Security adapted for SOAs.

BEA will also offer a business services registry based on the Registry software that the company licensed from Systinet. The tool delivers governance and life cycle management for SOAs.

The ESB product is slated for release later this summer and will be priced at less than $45,000 per CPU.

The data services modules cost $10,000 per CPU and are set for availability later this month. The security product costs $75,000 for the administration application and $10,000 per CPU for security service modules.
