Google has extended its mapping service to include the whole of the UK.
According to the Google Blog the service has come to the UK after an email campaign from British Google users.
"New Orleans, Anchorage and Beverly Hills are all very well, but what about London, Cardiff and Belfast?" said Google usability analyst Richard Boardman on the blog.
"I guess my colleagues got tired of my moaning, so I'm delighted to introduce Google Local UK and Google Maps UK. The Google UK office and a few of us homesick Brits in California have been helping out with the development."
Google is investing heavily in ancillary services to augment its dominance in the search engine market. Last month it included local information and driving directions and real time taxi location to its US services and has pledged to extend similar ideas globally.
