Mobile phone users will soon have access to a greater catalogue of entertainment content following a new deal between Vodafone and Warner Bros.
Through a 16-country distribution deal, Vodafone live! customers will be able to download games, screensavers and other mobile content from the creators of The Matrix, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and Friends.
Warner Bros Online will initially provide Vodafone with games, screensavers, alerts and other mobile applications based on popular entertainment brands.
But the film company stated that it will work with mobile operators to develop "made for mobile" content, including video.
Graeme Ferguson, executive for content development at Vodafone, said: "We are focused on delivering the best mobile content customer experience, so that our customers have access to the world's most exciting entertainment content."
Jim Noonan, senior vice president and general manager at Warner Bros Online, added: "Having our content on Vodafone live! will enable us to package our existing entertainment properties in new compelling and dynamic ways."
The deal stirs up the battle between Vodafone and other mobile operators.
Orange last week announced a partnership with the UK cinema industry to provide 'two-for-one' ticketing deals and exclusive mobile internet content.
