Following up from its record defacement of 700 sites in one minute last month, hacking group World of Hell (WoH) has done it again - although the number was no where near the group's previous mark.
Reports are coming in that, within a few minutes last night, the notorious defacement crew hit over 200 websites replacing their homepages with the now familiar WoH logo.
As with the last mass defacement, carried out by the m0sad hacking crew, all the sites were hosted virtually on the same web server. This time the machine was run by US firm hughes.net which appears to be part of Antelecom.
To its credit though, the hosting provider was quick to spot the intrusion and has taken all of the sites offline for repair, thus making life difficult for defacement monitoring sites to mirror the attack. The hosting provider's affected customers might have given the company more credit, however, if it had patched its servers in the first place.
Because the server is offline it is impossible to confirm what operating system it was running. A list of the sites hit has been posted here.
