Most of us like testing new software, even we go on to remove from our computers only a few days or weeks after installation. The problem with this is that information about the installation, location, usage of the software and registration is stored within your Windows Registry. After months of installing and removing software, you’ll find your system takes ages to boot, seems far more sluggish than previously and programs start more slowly.
One obvious solution would be to re-install Windows, giving you a completely clean Registry. However, there are far more simplistic solutions. The most straightforward is to find a Registry cleanser that will scan your Registry for miscellaneous entries and then remove, streamlining the Registry database.
However, many Registry defrag tools are commercial, over the top and some even go as far as stripping too much information from your Registry, causing additional issues.
Quicksys RegDefrag is a simple and free Registry defrag and optimisation tool, which is both well designed and simple to use.
This is the brand new 2.x release and ships with a number of new features including a new defrag algorithm, HTML reporting and much more.
