Just about every edition of Windows is customisable, with Windows XP more customisable than previous operating systems. Despite Windows Vista being available for a few months, tools to enable you to customise the interface are only just about reaching the market. There are still few tweaking and optimisation tools available.
This doesn’t mean that Vista isn’t customisable. You can still edit and create your own logon screen if you know how to make these manual changes. A better alternative is to use a tool that will enable you to choose and customise your own Windows logon screen.
Stardock LogonStudio is a tool that is designed to enable you to create your own logon screens when you start up Windows Vista. You can either import your own image for your new logon screen or download one of the many existing screens, created by other users.
