When you install software on your computer, it’s rather difficult trying to figure out what has been installed, what happens when you boot your computer, the entries it has written to your Registry and more. Worse, when you try and uninstall the software, some of these Registry entries are still present on your system and your computer may still look for the application when you boot your computer.
Result? Your system takes longer to boot as it’s trying to locate and run the problematic file. Another similar problem can occur where the software that boots with your computer starts in the wrong order. You need to rearrange the boot up sequence so that a dependant application will start after the software it is dependent on. For instance, you might want your personal firewall to either start after every other application or before.
Quick Startup is a tool that will enable you to view all the applications that start with your computer and disable, where necessary. You can see if the application views it as trustworthy and if it is a problematic startup tool, you can even choose to run it in compatibility mode. Quick Startup goes even further, enabling you to view scheduled tools (ie run once in a while) and those that are embedded as local services.
