Google’s Mail service (GMail) is an excellent free email system which you can use to access and write email online, so if you’re away from your computer, you can still use email when you’re out of the office. With Google’s new business service, you can now assign a domain name to your email so instead of yourname@googlemail.com, your recipients will see yourname@yourdomain.co.uk.
However, checking your Google Mail isn’t always easy and, quite often, you forget. As it’s primarily an online service, you have to connect to Google and then login to your mail account, to see if you have received new email.
GMail Manager is a simple extension to Firefox that enables you to quickly see when you have new email. It’s highlighted at the bottom of the web browser. When you receive new email, you can simply click the GMail button on the browser and you’ll be taken directly to your email account – you don’t need to bother entering your username and password.
If you have more than one GMail account, you can also use GMail manager to manage multiple accounts.
