One frustrating element of using a USB device within Windows is that, despite the facility to 'safely remove' the device from your computer, it often doesn't work.
You only need to use the device when you boot your computer, enable your antivirus client to check the device or simply use the contents within software installed on your computer, and your computer will think that the device is 'in use' so you can't safely remove it from the computer.
If you do try to manually remove the device, you're presented with a stern warning stating that you might have lost some data on that device.
Safely Remove is a replacement for the Windows Safely Remove Hardware device manager. However, it has been designed for USB device users, meaning that it enables you to stop individual drives from your machine quickly and easily.
Safely Remove attempts to clarify the devices connected to your computer. If you have a couple of external drives and, perhaps, a digital camera connected, you can quickly see the device names and remove the correct device.
