Most of our day to day work activity is routine. If someone decided to monitor you during the day, then played back a video of your daily work routine, you'd probably be nervous to see the results.

Why? We perform tasks in a particular manner at a certain time of the day. We even take our breaks at the same time each day.

Our working lives would be easier (or we'd certainly seem a lot more productive) if we could automate the way we work. For instance, if you're used to opening a program, performing a routine, then moving to another program to do the same, why not automate this process?

The problem is that creating a macro between applications is almost impossible, unless you turn to third-party software.
