Now that broadband is so popular, storing files online makes a lot of sense. They can be accessed wherever there is an internet connection and, while uploading lots of files needs a fast connection, Office documents are manageable even on a dial-up connection.
Diino offers more than simple file storage, with email and an MP3 player also included.
The cost of Diino depends on how much space is required. The basic version is free and offers 20MB of storage. However, VNU has partnered with Diino to offer you a special offer of 100MB of free storage.
Simply download the software from this website for instant access to 100MB of free storage. Should you require more storage, you can upgrade from as little as £3 a month for 1GB.
Files can be uploaded and downloaded by dragging and dropping to and from the program window. They can be publicly shared by sending an email with a download link, helping to avoid large email attachments.
The MP3 player was of good quality but it can only play several tracks from the same folder and doesn't play WMA files. It is possible, though, to share music with up to five other Diino users.
Diino told us that all the computers with the files are kept safe and secure (in an ex-nuclear bunker in Scandinavia), and all communication is encrypted to ensure that files cannot be intercepted.
