Using a different font is a great way of personalising a document but it can be hard to keep track of the fonts installed on the computer, especially when software installs lots more without asking. Cfont Pro is a utility for browsing the fonts on the computer and installing new ones.
This utility used to be shareware but is now free. Installation is very simple. The fonts available on the computer are shown on the left hand side of the window. Click on one to see a preview in the main part of the screen.
This is a simple alphabet showing both upper and lower case, but it is possible to set a custom proof sheet if there is a text that works better. Information about the font is also shown.
One useful function of Cfont Pro is to preview fonts before deciding whether or not to install them, avoiding the problem of too many fonts. It can also be used to uninstall fonts, either permanently or moving them to a special folder in case you change your mind.
