This game won't win any awards for its graphics, but then, neither would any of the original Atari games. But what Esnuka has in common with these old games is simplicity and playability.

Okay, let's be honest - you won't feel like you're participating in the Benson & Hedges championship, but you'll have a laugh. With its simple graphics, fast gameplay and plethora of games to play, you'll enjoy Esnuka as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Along with the standard games of Snooker, Pool and Billiards, Esnuka offers a variation based on all three. This is similar to snooker, but involves the balls "evolving" in colour terms when potted in a particular order. The aim of the game is to finish, having evolved as far as you can.

The author of the software goes on about the "evolution of the species" and "sexual differentiation" when explaining Esnuka, so don't be surprised if you get a little lost when reading the instructions. Despite this, it is possible to play and understand the object of Esnuka quite easily.

You can select one of three languages - English, Spanish and French - and can play any of ten computer opponents or up to eight friends.
