Email management firm
Xobni has
released a tool designed to help organisations manage and deploy the company's
namesake plug-in for Outlook which allows users to easily find information in
their inbox.
Available immediately,
Xobni
Enterprise is a web-based portal that lets administrators easily customise
and deploy Xobni across the business, according to the firm.
Using the portal, customers can manage user profiles, groups and access to
Xobni Extensions. It also links with corporate LDAP or Active Directory services
to retrieve user profile information.
Xobni itself is a free download that extends Outlook 2003 or 2007 by offering
search tools, conversation threading and a social networking platform. The
software is aimed at professionals who need a faster and more effective way of
sifting through their inbox to find the information they require.
According to Xobni, the average user can save more than 30 minutes a week,
and the tool has consequently found its way into 80 per cent of Fortune 500
companies.
"With Xobni Enterprise, companies of all sizes can dramatically increase the
productivity of their workforce," said Xobni chief executive Jeff Bonforte.
Xobni Enterprise also ships with a framework that allows organisations to
create their own custom extensions to link with other systems such as customer
relationship management or company web portals. Licensing is expected to start
at about $30 (£18) per user per year.
