RSA Europe kicks off tomorrow

Security show set to welcome over 1,000 delegates

Phil Muncaster

Over 1,000 delegates will make their way to central London tomorrow for the start of the annual RSA Conference Europe security event, which will have a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and education, according to the organisers.

Aside from the usual senior executives from RSA Security, keynote speakers will include Amy Barzdukas, Microsoft's general manager of Internet Explorer and consumer security, and former trader Nick Leeson, who will share his insights into "the way large companies are run and the how they are at risk".

Howard Schmidt, former White House cyber security advisor and president of the Information Security Forum, will assess how the UK and US governments are facing the global challenge of online crime, while security in the cloud, PCI compliance and mobile security will also be covered at the show.

"We have an open call for papers, and a panel of industry experts, vendors, end users and analysts decide [the agenda]," said conference manager Linda Lynch.

"What makes it different from other events is that there's always been a huge focus on education; it's not vendor-led."

With this in mind, pre-conference tutorials and seminars include presentations on cryptography, key management and computer forensics, while track sessions focus on applications and development, the business of security, governance, professional development and more.
