IBM has launched new enterprise content management (ECM) software which it
claims can reduce the time it takes to execute business processes by up to 50
per cent, helping to lower costs and make organisations more agile and
efficient.
The
IBM
FileNet Business Process Manager bundle combines FileNet Process Monitor,
FileNet Business Process Framework, FileNet Connector for Microsoft Visio, and
IBM FileNet eForms.
The content-centric business process management system also includes IBM
Cognos Now for real-time monitoring, according to the firm.
IBM said that the bundle could be used to streamline business processes, for
example in healthcare by enabling hospitals to respond more quickly to patient
needs, or in insurance by enabling the error-free and speedy processing of
claims.
"Our software offerings are designed to make it easier for clients to get the
most out of their content management investments," said Ken Bisconti, vice
president of products and strategy at IBM Enterprise Content Management.
"By bundling a complete set of content-centric business process management
tools into one offering, IBM has significantly improved the delivery of ECM
capabilities. This allows clients to simplify integration, streamline business
processes and lower costs."
IBM also announced enhanced versions of its Content Management offering,
featuring improved process automation, document handling and full-text search
capabilities.
In addition, an updated FileNet Content Manager includes improvements in
installation and upgrade processes, reducing the cost of deploying
enterprise-class content capabilities, said IBM.
