The Samsung Galaxy S is barely a couple of months old and an 'official' Samsung spec sheet of a new addition, the Galaxy Q, appears to have surfaced.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy Q could come with a 3in Super Amoled screen, shaving an inch off the current model. This will presumably make it more affordable than the Galaxy S.

The downside is that the resolution will decrease from 480 x 800 pixels to 720 x 400 pixels.

Thankfully, Samsung will include the latest version of Android 2.2 Froyo, and the device will be powered by a speedy 1Ghz processor.

The rear camera is expected to be beefed up to 8-megapixels and will come with an LED flash, which was lacking in the Galaxy S. The front camera could also come with a decent 1.3-megapixals if reports are to be believed.

The Galaxy Q will come with multi-touch capabilities, but the addition of a Qwerty keyboard and optical keypad will increase navigation and usability options.

Samsung is likely to ship the device with 16GB of internal memory, and a micro-SD slot will support an additional 32GB.

Overall, the specs are suitably impressive, but suggest that the device is not designed to replace the Galaxy S as Samsung's flagship device. However, V3.co.uk feels that it will serve as a worthy addition to the Galaxy range and could be a popular device, if the price is right.
