ViewSonic VX2451mhp-LED monitor

A very high quality display with a lovely white colour scheme and easily accessible ports. The VX2451mhp-LED will easily cater to the needs of most business users.

Pros:

Lovely design, bright screen, easily accessible ports, competitive price

Cons:

Tiny navigation buttons, no USB connections

Overall Rating:

4 Star Rating: Recommended

Price: £155

Manufacturer: ViewSonic

Large monitors are all the rage in the enterprise as they are relatively low cost and help with productivity by allowing workers to view multiple programs or documents simultaneously.

The ViewSonic VX2451mhp-LED is the latest 24in monitor to be released and, although not as large as some of the other monitors we've reviewed, it is a very good size and delivers excellent picture quality.

Ice white design
The most striking feature of the ViewSonic is the beautiful pearl white bezel, which gives it a unique look. The screen attracted admiring glances in the office and makes a change from monotonous black displays.

Of course, the downside is that it attracts noticeable speckles of dust and marks quite easily. A regular wipe down will be needed to keep it in pristine condition, but this isn't a difficult task.

ViewSonic VX2451mhp-LED monitor front
The VX2451mhp-LED measures 582x440x210mm, which makes it a little chunkier than the 24in LG E2441v Super LED monitor (569x419x179mm). The body sits on a small, stylish little base giving it a total weight of 4.23kg, which is a few hundred grams heavier than similar sized LG and Samsung products.

The only design feature that disappointed was the size of the four navigation buttons on the front. These are quite small and you have to be very precise when using them to navigate through the on-screen menus.

Crystal clear display
The VX2451mhp-LED comes with a recommended resolution of 1,920x1,080 for PCs and Macs. Clarity of text and images on the widescreen display is pin sharp even when connecting to a machine via the analogue mini D-sub port.

The display has a brightness of 300cd/m2, and this is very impressive when turned up to the maximum. With a 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and support for 16.7 million colours, the display projects extremely clear vibrant colours. The anti-glare coating also means that the ViewSonic can be used very comfortably in an office environment where overhead lighting can pose problems.
