At a London pre-launch event, V3.co.uk got a hands on with the latest Nokia handset. Although Nokia said the N8 is due to ship in the third quarter, which begins in just two weeks, the Finnish phone company admitted that it still has changes to make, including adding social networking functions.
Using the Symbian^3 OS, the N8 has a 1200mAh battery to deliver 390 hours of standby time, 12 hours of talk time for GSM networks, 50 hours of music playback and seven hours for playing video. It has a 3.5in display, a 12-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and 720p video recording using its 16GB of memory. It can also take memory cards of up to 32GB, comes with voice navigation with maps for 70 countries and weighs 135g.
