V3.co.uk headed down to Apple's flagship UK store on Regent Street to chat to some of the first buyers of its much anticipated iPad device.
Some of the customers had been waiting in the queue all night so V3.co.uk was keen to find out why they were so eager to get their hands on the new tablet, whether they consider it a good business tool and if they believe the iPad is good value for money.

I have already pre-ordered my 32 GB Wi-Fi + 3G iPad. It should help my recovery from an operation later this month while stuck at home. I do not have an iPhone because the only additional accessory that I would really want - the camera, is not yet powerful enough. I will want the iPad because I can use Keynote (albeit slimmed down) and Pages from such a slim, portable device. There is also X-Plane flight simulator to get me through recovery and hone my flying skills. Whether you want to read a book, surf the net or keep in touch with e-mail, the iPad is both a personal and business tool rolled into one - it is from Apple and it just works.

WTF?
Interesting that none of the people interviewed really give a good reason for buying one. Another example of the Apple Hype Machine at work. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Apple hater - I use an iMac at home,. but I really fail to see what the fuss is all about with this device - there are better tablets/netbooks out there, and for half the price.
