Samsung unveiled its Ativ Tab 3 Windows 8 tablet this week alongside its more premier Intel Haswell-powered Ativ Q Windows 8/Android hybrid tablet-come-laptop. While the Tab 3 may not feature the same interesting dual-boot offering or cutting edge chipset, there is still plenty to like about it.
For a start the Tab 3, thanks to the use of an Intel Atom processor, is very thin measuring in at just 8.2mm, making it one of the thinnest Windows 8 tablets ever made. The device is also confirmed to come bundled with the same S Pen stylus seen on Samsung's Android Note series of devices. The inclusion of the S Pen means users will be able to doodle and take notes on the Tab 3's 10.1in, 1366x768 display to their hearts' content.
Even better, as an added boon to business users, Samsung's sweetened the Tab 3 pot, bundling it with a free pre-installed copy of Microsoft Office 2013, granting them unfettered access to useful services like Word, PowerPoint and Excel. There is currently no word on the Samsung Ativ Tab 3's price or release date.
