Jive Software has refreshed the mobile support for its social business platform, rolling out native apps for iPad, iPhone and Android that allow users to produce documents, search for information and take action while on the move.

Introduced on Tuesday, the new apps provide people with effective communication and collaboration tools while expanding productivity in key tasks and roles, according to Jive.

"Smartphones and tablets need to offer more than just the ability to read updates and provide quick responses back. With employees travelling more often and working remotely, it is critical that they have the ability to actively participate regardless of what device they use," said vice president of marketing, Nathan Rawlins.

The line-up now comprises Jive for iPhone v2.0, Jive for iPad, and Jive Present apps for both iPad and Android.

With Jive Present, the new Android and enhanced-version of the iPad app enable sales teams to have access to the latest collateral while in the field, and integrate with CRM tools, providing access to contacts and the ability to sync activities and notes.

The enhanced iPhone app is now 50 percent faster, and makes it easier to highlight what needs action by others, according to Jive.

Likewise, the new native Jive for iPad allows users to track progress on key projects, quickly get the latest news and stay in sync with teams through custom streams. Jive said it has seen a 435 percent increase in mobile usage from its global customers during the past year.
