Twitter has updated its Android app, iOS app, and mobile website, to include new search options and a streamlined design.

New features for connect tabs and links.

"This release provides a single stream of content in each tab, so you can better find what's most important to you when you're on the go," wrote Twitter's director of product management Esteban Kozak in a blog post.

Twitter's update has revised its discovery, search, connect, and link abilities across mobile platforms.

Discovery will now be shown in a single stream. Tweets, activity, trends, and suggestions will start being shown in a single tab with the new update. Previously, all activities were separated into different streams in the discovery tab.

Twitter's search tweak will also see all relevant search information housed in one stream. Users of the iPhone who update now have a singular search button available throughout the app as well.

The 'Connect' feature has been rejigged to show interactions by default. Before, mentions were the first option shown when moving through the apps connect tab.

Tweeted links get a revamp too, so when a user clicks on a link in a tweet they are now taken directly to the URL's webpage. Previously, the first click on a link expanded the tweet and required a second click to direct the user towards the URL.

News of the update comes following the recent announcement that Twitter bought social TV analytics firm Bluefin. The move is expected to help Twitter build up its advertising abilities.

Users looking to update can go to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
