CES: Lenovo embraces touch with E431 and E531 ThinkPads

LAS VEGAS: Lenovo has retargeted the enterprise space unveiling two new business-focused Windows 8 ThinkPad laptops featuring touch support.

The company unveiled its new ThinkPad Edge E431 and E531 laptops at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Lenovo claimed the machines are ideally suited to use by small businesses, thanks to their use of Windows 8 and integrated touchscreens.

"People love touch. It's everywhere in today's PC Plus world and is driving new interactions with devices and digital content," said Lenovo senior vice president Peter Hortensius.

"We've aggressively integrated touch across our consumer PCs so that we have one of the largest portfolios of Windows 8 touch products available."

Lenovo is yet to release any further details regarding the two laptops technical specifications and at the time of publishing the company had not responded to V3's request for additional information.

The new ThinkVision LT1423p Mobile Monitor was also unveiled at the conference, adding to Lenovo's touch focus.

The LT1423p boasts a 13.3in, 1600x900 AH-IPS touch-panel display, complete with 10-point touch and full stylus integration.

Finally, Lenovo unveiled its new OneLink dock alongside the laptops and monitor.

The OneLink dock reportedly house a custom "one cable" connecting solution that will reduce the number of connections required to connect a machine to the dock. 

The dock boasts four USB ports, one HDMI and one Ethernet port.

UK pricing and release dates remain unknown though Lenovo has confirmed he ThinkPad Edge E431 and E531 will be available in the US from with prices starting at $539.

The ThinkPad Edge E431 and E531 will be available starting in May. Models start at approximately $539.

The ThinkPad OneLink Dock will be also available starting in May. Price will cost approximately $99.

The ThinkVision LT1423p Mobile Monitor Touch will be available Q2 2013 for roughly $449.
