Microsoft’s new operating system is going to be a popular one, if the amount of interest it’s getting among V3 readers is anything to go by. Our most popular article last week was our review of the Surface tablet, which we liked for its lightweight, sturdy construction and built-in Office 2013 apps, while readers were also keen to find out more about the relative security of the Windows Phone platform compared to rivals iOS and Android.
Microsoft’s Office apps for iOS and Android devices are also eagerly anticipated, as is its speech translation tool, which will let speech be processed by a device and translated into another language while maintaining the voice characteristics of the speaker.
Also last week, V3 was down in Cornwall seeing a demo of BT’s latest high-speed network operating at a whopping 10Gbit/s – needless to say, this won’t be rolled out nationwide any time soon.
And with Barack Obama winning his second term as US president, we’ve offered him a handy checklist of the top 10 technology priorities for him to tackle over the next four years.
