Microsoft Surface RT tablet video demo

The Surface RT is Microsoft's first own brand tablet running on Windows 8.

Looking to target the same premium market as the Apple iPad, Microsoft claims the Surface RT tablet's increased port and device management options offer unique selling points to business users.

But with the promise of the forthcoming Surface Pro, which comes loaded with Microsoft's full Windows 8 operating system, some industry watchers have questioned whether the Surface RT really fits the billing.

Having seen the tablet in action, though, we have to say we're impressed with the Surface RT and its potential use among companies with an active bring your own device (BYOD) to work policy.
