Visual Network System (VNS) has unveiled a new tool designed to monitor the ever-growing volumes of data being sent over corporate networks on virtualised systems hosting applications and remote desktop systems.

The 10G VPM (visual performance manager) Express tool is the latest product in the range that helps firms gain a complete end-to-end view of the performance and use of applications being used on the cloud, carrier or enterprise networks to help staff identify any issues as they arise.

The firm's worldwide director of marketing Belinda Yung-Rubke explained to V3 that the firm was launching the faster version of the system due to the increasing volumes of data being hosted on virtualisation systems.

"We are finding that as people expand the use of virtualisation projects, in terms of datacentre consolidation and implementing virtual desktops, they are pushing more data and traffic on the network so that pushes the requirement to go to higher bandwidths," she said.

"Not only are there more uses of virtual desktops, but there is also more data being moved around, which is pushing up demand as well so IT staff need to be able to manage and troubleshoot any issues as quickly as possible."

Yung-Rubke added that the firm was also pitching the product at the growing number of mid-tier organisations making use of virtualisation systems.

"Because virtualisation is increasingly used by mid-sized organisations some of the IT staff managing this do not have a lot of expertise in troubleshooting in that kind of environment," she said.

"So by making this product easy to configure and deploy, it can help meet the requirements of the growing number of mid-tier firms using these systems."

Pricing for the unit starts at £65,793 for the 12TB packet stores version and £90,034 for the 24TB packet version and it is available from today.
