The winners of the 2011 V3 Technology Awards were announced on Friday, and Microsoft walked off with several accolades, while there were also successes for Vodafone, Cisco, BT, IBM, Google and Dell.

Microsoft swept the board with four awards including Best Desktop Application for Office 365 and the overall Enterprise Software Firm for 2011 award.

RIM received a much needed boost after a difficult year when the BlackBerry Bold 9900 picked up the Best Business Smartphone award, while Vodafone took home Best Mobile Operator.

Steve Jobs was the clear choice for Tech Hero of the Year after his huge impact on the industry, while there were no surprises that Rupert Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks took home the Villain of the Year award for their roles in the phone-hacking scandal.

V3 would like to thank our readers for sharing their expertise in determining the winners, and offer our congratulations to the winning organisations. The full list of all the winners is below.
